Buh-Bye

Had I any respect left for the NBA I would have lost it: they instituted a dress code. For example, players are not allowed to wear T-shirts at team events including arriving or departing the arena. No T-shirts? The NBA does know that basketball is a sport, right?

Additionally, players are required to wear a sport coat at the game if they are not dressed to play. One of the NBA players said it best:

“I understand they're making it out to make us look better to corporate and big business. But we don't really sell to big business,” Jazz guard Raja Bell said. “We sell to kids and people who are into the NBA hip-hop world. They may be marketing to the wrong people with this.”

Not only are the NBA executives the kind of narrow-minded control-freaks who insist on dominating every aspect of their employees' behavior, they are stupid, narrow-minded control-freaks who ignore their target market. Sheesh.
